LAW AGAINST WHITE MUSCADINE

Prevention of silkworm diseases

The spread of silkworm diseases was a very significant problem for silkworm rearing: one of the most widespread diseases was white muscadine, which would reduce the silkworm to a rigid, chalky white state, making it look like lime mortar. The authorities did their utmost to prevent these diseases by introducing specific laws.
